  1. In my instance, i've got a pretty good amount of hair but because i'm growing my hair long, you can tell they are not as thick. So i'm thinking of experimenting with hair fibres. Also, can i apply gel to my hair? i.e. Shape my hair with gel, once dry, then apply hair fibres and then apply the hair spray
  2. I've read peoples opinions on then, and vast majority seem to be positive. But how good are they? My biggest fear is that when i'm at uni and it starts to rain, that they start coming off and start catching on my forehead. Are they completely safe to use in all weather?...anybody had any experience in this? Thanks!!!
  3. here's a link: http://www.combat-hair-loss.co.uk/hairmax/index.php
  4. Anyone heard of this?..or tried it out? I heard some good stuff about this. I don't plan on buying it, firstly i don't really ned it and second it's like £300. Just wanted to know what peoples opinions were on this. Thanks
  5. no opinions?..ok, i'm going to give it a try and get back to you
  6. HEHE!!! No. when i do have hair, i will shampoo.
  7. a waste of money?...I've been using mine for a year but i question whether they do anything. It's more a psychological reason why i continue to use them. I'm scared that if i go off it, that my hair will become weaker. what are your perceptions of hair vitamins.
  8. Nanoguard: is it afctually effective?...has anyone used it before?...I've been using Nizoral for quite a while now, i was impressed with it until lately when i noticed quite alot of shedding. I'm shaving my hair off tomorrow, and decided to try out nanoguard, plus nanothik. I'm actually shaving my hair off for the reason that, with really short hair, the shampoo and conditioner will show better results in the long term. what do you think? Most importantly, what are your opinions on nanoguard?
  9. 100 hairs? wow...in that case, i ain't got nothig to worry about. i was freaking myself out lately...i resorted to counting the hairs on my hand after washing my hair, which was about 17 (when i used the conditioner - nanothick). i also counted the hair on my pillow after i woke up. Lately i just couldn't help it. won't be worrying about it from now. Thanks!!!
  10. 1) How many hairs on average can an average male lose in a day without fearing he's losing hair? 2) How many hairs on average can an average male lose when washing his hair without fearing he's losing his hair? Can somebody clear this up for, please. I heard once that the average male loses 80 hairs a day, but that sounds excessive. I'sd appreciate it if someone could answer these two questions. Thanks!!!
  11. i was going through the forums today, and i noticed all this stuff about how shedding was actually showing that it was working. Got to admit, i never knew that was the case. Does anyone know anything about laser therapy, i was just reading something about Shane Warne (the austrailian cricketer), and he mentioned that he had laser therapy and that his hair was growing back. he was also taking saw palmetto extract in capsule and topical form. anyone about this? also...anyone heard of or used nanogaine?
  12. CHINO: I did lose hair due to Minocycline, quite alot actually. My question was purely hypothetical, i do not intend to use any topical or oral medication in hope of regaining hair. My efforts are purely directed at thickening the appearance of my existing hair, which i'm doing with nanothik - that PB_ recommended. I only received it this week and have used it twice. so far so good. With regards with medication for regrowing hair, i constantly hear about initial shedding - that alone is enough to put me off. If i lose anymore i really will have a PROBLEM. I'm planning to just let nature take its course. All i'm doing with regards to my hair is the following: 1) Nizoral - 2 x a week 2) Nanothik - 3 x a week 3) Hair Vitamin - I don't know whether this does any good, it's more a psychological thing nowadays (i'm scared to go off it) 4) Iron supplement
  13. What really is best at regaining the hair that you have lost? Propecia?...Monoxil?...Proscar?...etc...
  14. totally, i get that. all i'm really look for is a thicker head of hair. i'm not looking for anything miraculous, just something that is atleast noticeable to me.
  15. Excellent!!! well like i mentioned, I'll get back to you with my results. I'd like to thank everybody who helped me with this, especially BP_, i hold hope that this will work.
  16. will definitely let you guys know...should get it next week will use it for atleast a month and will get back to you guys with the results...i hope for a good outcome. PB_: Just finally, i just want to make sure, apart from what you've mentioned before, there were no other side-effects/reasons why you would not recommend this, is there? Peace!!!
  17. Great!!! I asked because, both my sister and mother told me that when they used conditioner they used to see excess hair fall out - it wasn't really a problem but they just mentioned it as i told them about nanothick.
  18. PB_: you didn't notice any shedding when using this conditioner did you?...i've heard some people mention in the past that it can sometimes happen.
  19. PB_: I'm actually going to give nanothick a try, i hope to see some results with it, but as you mentioned that only you could see the difference - that's absolutely fine with me. You see, i used to have shoulder length hair at the time when my hair started to fall out and i decided to get it all shaved off in hope that my hair would come back stronger and thicker, so i could grow it long again. But it never happened. My hope is to eventually grow it long again, maybe not shoulder length, with hopefully no real patches of the scalp showing. Could i ask, 1) how long it was before you saw results? 2) How long will a bottle (200ml) last me, applying 3 times a week, so i know how many to get before i am likely to see results? 3) as i mentioned, i use nizoral shampoo to fight my dandruff, will nanothick be ok to use with nizoral? My father actually passed away due to a heart attack, he was quite a heavy smoker. This has led me to avoid cigarettes and keep a healthy lifestyle, much to my mothers joy. SPITFIRE: My acne has actually got alot better now, thanks to this website www.acne.org which emphasises the importance of Benzoyl Peroxide. I have'nt had an acne break out for some time now, the only thing that bothers me are the redmarks the spots have left behind. But thankfully, they seem to be clearing too, slowly, but nonetheless clearing with a little help from Bio Oil.
  20. i was on l'oreal elvive thickening shampoo for quite some time and did nothing for me aprt from give me quite bad dandruff. that's the reason i got nizoral which is pretty good. I'm quite interested in that nioxin you recommended, also the nanothik that PB_ recommended. If i could as k you both, just how much improvement did you guys see?
  21. CHINO: At my father's death, age 39, he still had a full head of hair. however, his brother, my uncle, lost all his hair on top in his twenties and my cousin in his late teens. I'm guessing it is more important to consider your father when looking at history, but i maybe wrong and you should consider a wide circle of relatives. SPITFIRE: I know what you mean. i would never recommend this medication to anyone...it has caused me nothing but problems...to make matters worse i only saw slight improvements in my acne when using it. i saw my hair falling out within 4-6 weeks...i seemed to have far quicker reaction to it than you. Are you in the same position as me?...thin on top but only slightly, only you/people close to you can realise it?
  22. Pondle: I've tried alot of shampoos and conditioers...did not work. I have been considering propecia, but i have always said that medication would be the last resort Chino: did you mean something like this http://www.nioxin.com/go/products/thinning...g-hair-system-1 Could you have a look at this link and tell me if that is what you meant. Thanks!!!
  23. How are You all Doing? Let me give you some background information on my problem. I'm a 20 year old male from london, UK...who at the age of 18 took medication for my acne, minocycline, which caused me to lose hair (the medication did list this as a POSSIBLE side-effect but i was so desperate to to get rid of my acne i went ahead with it anyhow). After a number of weeks my hair began to fall out - it was extremely weak, used to wake up with my pillow covered in hair and when i used to wash it, my hands were covered in them. So then i pretty stopped this medication. It was however a while before my hair seemed to get some sort of strength back and luckily now after a year and a half, it seems to have recovered its stregth. My problem is my hair is thin on top. when i run my hands through them i can feel the difference of the texture. You cant really tell i've lost hair but to me its obvious. This may sound-like a stupid question but does anyone know of any way to thicken your hair. I would appreciate any suggestions, as this really does get me down from time to time. Thanks!!!
