hey all,
i'm 20, and thankfully not suffered too much hairloss yet, but I started on propecia bout 3 months back as a preventative measure. Yesterday I bought some regaine out of curiousity, and have been testing it out on a small area of my temples. If I used it regularly, I'd be applying it exclusively to my frontal hairline.
I'm kinda dubious about whether its worth using it, and was wondering if you could answer some questions before i start using it proper.

- what kind of an area is it supposed to cover? Its all well and good saying apply 1ml at a time, but is that 1ml meant to cover the entire top of the head? Like i said, i only want to use it on a small area.

-how long does it take to absorb? I usually go to the gym during the day, and if i had a shower after that would it wash it all out? Is about 3hours enough time to allow it to soak in?

-How bad is it if you miss 1 application? Say if i was applying it regularly, and then missed a night application as well as the following mornings, would that cause hair to fall out?

-Does hair become dependant on it? I know people say that the hair thats growing because of the minox is totally dependant on it, but what about the rest of the hair in the area of application? My hairline seems to just be settling into its mature position at the moment, and i dont really want to lose it all because it become addicted to some crazy chemical.

I think i have more questions, but can't really remember for the moment, so I'll post them later.
thanks for your help
marty
I'd be interested to hear answers to those q's too..

I went to my GP's yesterday for a general consultation, one of the things i asked about was treatments for receding hair (i considered myself fairly knowledgeable on hair treatments) but asked as if i knew nothing..

He started talking about a 'blood pressure drug that was used to treat hairloss - regaine' and said it was available as a tablet or solution. He went on to tell me that if i started on it, it could stop hair falling out and possibly regrow some hair, but if i ceased use, all the hair that i had prevented falling out would fall out within a week and the new hair would fall out too..

He basically skirted over the subject and i was not really any the wiser..

Can anyone shed any clarity for myself and arbitrary's post?

Just for your general info, I am 28, I have been using regaine, nizoral and revivogen and after 6 weeks i consider it has halved my hairloss.

1. only use a small amount 1ml is intended to cover the majority of top. on tel\mples just use .25ml -

2. it will be absorded within 2/3 hrs

3. if you miss an application don't panic - and don't apply 2 x a s much next time - just reyturn to norm application

4. hair that is weak and subject to DHT can become dependant on it - not hair that isn't -
