Temples of doom
Hello all, I am 25 and have a thinning crown- i first noticed this when I was about 20. I am also receding at the temples. It is affecting my confidence a lot day to day and is constantly on my mind. I have visited a trichologist and she says I would be an ideal candidate for propecia. However I do not want to take drugs- even though I understand the risks of side effects are minor.
After a hell of a lot of research and with thanks to your posts on here I have decided to start using nizoral, zinc, maybe a saw palmetto based shampoo ( american crew rejuvenation) as well as multi vitamins.

Any other tips advice???

ur best bet is the 3 nizoral, regaine(minoxidil) and proscar/propecia
Joe
Ultimately, if you wish to sort your hair out to any great extent propecia/proscar is your only bet, coupled with nizoral, and perhaps minoxidil too. A hair transplant is the only other - a permanent measure. Best of luck. Joe

Cheers, I dont want to take proscar etc due to poss of side effects- so will contnue with nizoral and maybe Revivogen (although I worry about poss of initial shedding) Alos read that provillus may be a decent option??

propecia is the best form of defence against DHT . You will not neccessarily incur any sides.

Hi there,
I'm 26 and in exactly the same situation as you. I have just started taking procerin (natural DHT blocker) instead of the propecia, it's a lot cheaper although there is no proof that it works. I take these along with MSM tablets (increase blood flow to the head) zinc tablets and minidoxil (Regaine). I've only been taking the procerin tablets for a couple of weeks now and can't give an honest report on the progress until a few months have past. However I believe this is the best combination of treatments if you don't want to use the procerin or have a hair transplant. I can give you a link if you wish or you can wait a few months until I can give a report to the status of my hair and if the pills work or not!

Hope this helps you a bit

Thanks lads,

As I see it I have three options.
1. bite the bullet and start on proscar- it’s the main weapon in the hairloss fight but I don’t like the idea of messing with my hormones.
2. Carry on with my nizoral, green tea, zinc and American crew shampoo regime. Maybe adding Eucapil (Anyone tried it???), revivogen, or another topical
3. Shave my head and live with it

I will make the decision over the next few weeks let you know

Cheers

hey there, yeh ive been on fluridil for aonly a few weeks...i kno its early...but it does feel like it is helping, havea read up on hairsite.com forums, alot of guys ont hat forum have used fluridil, type it in the search engine and have a read, however i must warn you, it is kinda pricey....but anyways good luck mate...oooh btw you could try Dr Lee's topical spiro instead of fluridil, i believe it is cheaper, and i have read on forums of some people finding it very effective

the big 3 is the way forward - proven every time! Anything you can add to this combo then great but generally the big 3 gets the results.

Everyone is different and reacts differently to meds and its fantastic if results are achieved through different products - that's the purposes of these boards - to share the info and utlise it accordingly.

good growth to us all! biggrin.gif

Thanks for all your help.
I will hold off taking any internals for the time being but will be adding either fluridil, zix, spiro, or minox as a topical.

Anyone got any good results from these. Zix looks cheap as chips to use wheras fluridil (eucapil ) is quite expensive.

Thanks again

(natural DHT blocker) instead of the propecia, it's a lot cheaper although there is no proof that it works.

I thought that the whole point of the FDA approving propecia/proscar is that they did have proof that it worked??
JPC
Hi faa, You may have misunderstood my quote, it is the Procerin that is supposedly the natural DHT blocker. It's confusing as they're all spelt so similar!
