Hey guys, I don't usually post here but I think I should warn you about generic Dut. I heard of the stuff about 2+ yrs ago (at the time when no Indian/Generic Drugs were reported as being fake) and I ordered it from a "reputable" online pharmacy (i.e. Inhouse). The tablets came in a slim envelope with no packaging or instruction leaflet. I should have guessed there about the authenticity of the manufacturer/distributer.
After only a few weeks of use, I noticed that my hair got a lot thinner and I would get far more hair breakage from combing. Over the next few months, I had hair from my sides and back fall off.. I know that hair sheds after it's life cycle is complete, but my hair was falling as if my hair loss returned. Prior to the generic switch, I had been on GSK's Avodart and it had been very effective for me. I also started getting serious acne on my body (shoulders and back), which I never got with Avodart.
Basically cheap is cheap. The Indian manufacturer's do not have the same quality control in their drugs as the likes of GlaxoSmithKline/ MSD do. They are made in a different way and may contain other unwanted elements (like the stuff that caused my acne). Some may say that Generic drugs work but remember it takes about 8-12 months before your hair loss returns and you can't say it works untill you have tried the drug long term like I have. Its impossible to know whether the drug is working before its too late. I was foolish as I bought about 16 months worth but as soon as I finished it, I knew that the drug was not working and I switched back to the real brand. You can get Avodart for about £25 a month if you buy 6 months in advance.
Also, one thing these guys are forgetting to mention is that UK Customs charge you a bomb each time you make a purchase. I would pay around £31 (and the price has only gone up), which is over half what I paid to the online pharmacy! This increases the overall cost of the drug. Therefore, for the sake of an extra £5-10 a month, I would play it safe and stick to the real brand. Especially if you are about to have a hair transplant.
Just my two cents.

the better thing is buying avodart in pharmacy
it's possible that they give u the medicinal without prescription, if u don't have it
always better than to buy it on NET, it's not sure at 100%

as i said guy's on a previous post, most of my monthly med's for various ailment's are made by Dr Reddy's. ( an indian based generic drug manufacturer ) the pharmacies/chemists in the UK are full of these generic drugs! the NHS would not survive on branded named drugs! one of my drugs is for a heart condition' and if my GP and all the standards trust Dr Reddy's with my life thats good enough for me! and i know you can get DUT made by Dr Reddy's for £25 x 30 tabs! if my GP had to put me on DUT for any other reason than hairloss, you can guarantee it would be generic! i get NIZAROL 2% of my GP every 2 months, and guess who makes it? Dr Reddy's 2% ketoconazole! hope this help's you psychologically!
regards

Your GP probably doesn't give a shit about
your life and the "standards" only care about money and how to save it... The question should be - Would your GP trust "Dr Reddy's" with
his own life? I doubt it
