Hi guys,

I had bought a Hairmax Laser Comb a couple of years ago and its been gathering dust now. I didn't notice much affect from it other than it gave my hair more volume.

I have read in other boards about how some clinics are actually recommending it, so do you think I should start using it again? If it increases the circulation of blood to the follicle area, it could stimulate growth. Heres an article on it by the ISHRS.

However, I have also read that you should avoid exposing the recipient area to sunlight/UV rays post-op so would it be safe to use the comb? Next week I will be 7 months post op and I wouldn't want it to cause any harm to the grafts! unsure.gif

I did spend £500 on the thing so it would be good if I could get more mileage out of it! Especially if I have nothing to lose..

What do you reckon?

Sounds like a £500 scam to me... did the Wellesbourne clinic trick you into buying it?

I bought this thing well before any surgery and from my experience it is an Internet scam. The website posted before and after photos that top HT susrgeons would have been proud of ph34r.gif! According to the company it was meant to give new growth (i.e. a better alternative to Minox etc) but it didn't do anything to combat my hairloss. I shoudl have known it was too good to be true! I had tried to forget that i spent so much money on the junk but I recently read a few posts on how some clinics are actually recommending it and I was like WTF! blink.gif

Having said that I may just use it again as there are no known side effects from it and as I have spent so much on it already, it would be nice to get more mileage out of it! Hopefully the rays won't have an adverse effect.

Hi Bal,Im not sure if these laser things work,I think they seem a bit gimicky,But they may just help.

To improve bloodflow consider buyin an Inversion table to hang upside down by your ankles(seriously),Sounds mad but i can see how it would work and its apparantly great for improvin flexibility and great for you back they reckon.

Im gonna try it fairly soon and i'll let you know how i get on smile.gif

Interesting idea johnyd473, it would work but I think that maybe too much blood pressue going to your head. Besides, I would prob setup the table wrong and would end up cracking my head on the floor!

Hairloss has nothing to do with bloodflow! Does more blood flow through the back of the head, leading to people keeping hair at the sides? Do women generally have more blood flow than men? That thing is a joke. They said that they were seeking FDA approval, they haven't mentioned it since. Basically there is minoxidiol and propecia. That is it I'm afraid. The clinics can only sell these but somehow they rake it in. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
