An american forum has mentioned these as treatments for hair loss. Apparetly more general health but they work quite well with hair growth aswell apparently. Anyone know anything about them?

I know of a couple of studies in reputable scientific journals that seem to indicate that these are, potentially, promising substances for hair loss treatment. For example this one: "several selective protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitors, including procyanidin B-2 [apple poly extract], promote hair epithelial cell growth and stimulate anagen induction."

Caveat - these all seem to be 'in vitro' (test tube) or animal studies. No one seems to have conducted a large-scale trial using humans. Revita shampoo includes apple polyphenols (I think) and the reports from users are at best mixed. I'd say staking your hair on things like this, which don't yet have much evidence to support them, is a huge risk.

My opinion only - use proven treatments first (i.e. Propecia, minoxidil, & maybe Nizoral). If they don't work out well for you after 12 months you can take a punt on the apple poly caps.
