Has anyone had any real good results using Proscar..

Not sure if its my imagination or what.. only been on it for just over 2 months and I swear my crown looks thicker... first time I have cut (grade 8, which is about 1") my hair since being on it and I dont have any "before" pictures but I am sure its thicker ? Also been using Nirozal twice a week for the last 6 weeks.

The woman I work with pointed it out today, her comment was "wow" those tablets seem to be working.. I am not sure if its just a case of cutting it shorter means it just looks thicker ? Cant see any improvement in any other areas..

It is possible ?

Also, while I am boring everyone to death here I may as well ask another question, how quick does hair grow in about 2 months, mine has by about an inch.. been on and off MSM for the last month so dont think that has really helped.

Cheers

Tim

well I can't put it in context, but that image looks pretty good to me. I really hope it works for you. I'm seriously considering starting proscar/propecia too.

I think the average growth rate for hair is 1/2 inch per month - so that sounds about right.

out of interest, do you use the Nizoral for dandruff or because it helps hair growth?

I have maintained well on Proscar, but I haven't really seen much regrowth.

Two months seems a little early to see new growth. You may be experiencing a bit of a 'placebo effect'. It's normal to see a slowing of hair loss by month 3, but actual regrowth is usually only perceptible by about month 6 at the earliest.

Pondle...
must admit I was not convinced myself due to the time scale, should have taken a before photo and will leave it a good while until I "examine" it again... Thinking about it, I do agree with you over the "placedo effect", time will tell, my hair has felt alot better over the last couple of months but this could be down to using a good shampoo for the first time in years and advice from this forum from you and many others. Also since having booked with Doctor Feller I have felt "happier" in general just knowing I have made a step in the right direction and therefore worried less about my hair and have had a definate "self-esteem" boost. Its amazing what effect "positive thinking" can have.
Cheers yet again for your reply.

joe101...
so my 1" growth sounds about right, after my HT with Doctor Feller I will start on the MSM so will be a good judge of how well it works. I have only started using Nizoral because of the info from this forum, not for dandruff but to help against hairloss, only using it twice a week, not too sure if to increase my use at the moment. As to the condition of my crown, I do think maybe as Pondle suggests it a "placedo effect" but also think I am just happier at the moment, positive thinking.. improved state of mind etc.. god knows.. As to starting Proscar.. I would say go for it. I did start with Propicia several years ago but only lasted a month.. had a girlfriend at the time who said I was mad and liked me for who I was.... so I stopped.. Wish I had stayed on it as now 3 years behind ! .. I think the sooner you start the better as long as the side effects are ok. On that issue I dont seems to have any side effects...

Cheers

Tim

Hi Tim

It is possible you have experienced growth at such an early stage and i hope you have done as some people respond really well to the meds.

As for myself been on Proscar for three years now and i would say its stabilised my hairloss but its hard to tell if any regrowth.
