It's a pointless waste of time mate - use proven treatments i.e. finasteride and minoxidil.

Cheers Pondle,

Gord knows what to believe these days, its a nightmare.

I have 4 months worth so i might aswell giv it a go. If no joy i'll move onto the next product. One of the products you mention above.

Deep down i just dont think anythings going to work. You live in hope though i suppose.

Provillus saving your hair? That would be a miracle! May as well just bin it mate - but either way, get yourself some finasteride - and perhaps some minoxidil as well.

I could trail through the site and search engines, but for the sake of being a bit lazy, are these tablets? i cant really do the liquid or shampoo thing.

Finasteride (brand name Propecia or Proscar) and minoxidil (brand name Rogaine or Regaine) are the only two treatments for hair loss that are approved by the medical regulators in the UK, USA and other countries- i.e. they are the only two treatments that are proven to actually work!

Finasteride is an oral drug that stops the male hormone, testosterone, being converted into a more potent form called DHT. DHT isn't 'essential' for any biological functions after adolescence, but it binds with receptors in the the hair follicle causing scalp hairs to progressively shrink and die. DHT also plays a role in prostate problems in later life.

Minoxidil is a topical lotion or foam. It was originally an oral drug used for the treatment of high blood pressure, but it was accidentally discovered to promote hair growth. Subsequently the manufacturer produced a safer topical form and had it approved for the treatment of alopecia. No-one knows exactly how it works, but it is suspected to increase the supply of nutrients to the hair follicle, causing better growth.
