I'm not impressed by any "non-drug" products for hair loss. There's no evidence that saw palmetto is effective. Apparently this herb can inhibit DHT, but you'd have to take thousands of milligrams per day. Studies treating real people with smaller doses found no effect on DHT or 5AR. And even if you did take huge doses of saw palmetto and it did 'work', you'd get the same side effects as are possible with drug treatments.
